The primary function of the Hydria is for carrying and storing large volumes of water. In the context of a Symposium, the water within is combined with wine in a Krater for mixing before being served amongst the guests.

The organic shape in tandem with a more subtle set of handles makes this form very appealing. The walls are amongst the thinnest of this collection, making it surprisingly light for it's size.

Turned and carved from Box Elder wood and treated with a combination of red wine pigmentation, iron acetate, and fire before being finished with Tried & True varnish oil.
